MOI is a proud member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)

MOI International supports the production of sustainable palm oil through the RSPO Credits program.

This means that for every tonne of palm oil we use in the production of MOI Shortenings, Margarines and Premium Frying Oils we have paid a voluntary premium to a palm oil producer which is operating within the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil’s (RSPO) strict guidelines for social and environmental responsibility.

Our customers can therefore be reassured that in continuing to buy MOI products, they are making an environmentally and socially responsible purchasing decision. RSPO Credits is a trading program which is designed to tackle the environmental and social problems created by the production of palm oil.

Exclusively endorsed by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), it works on the principle that the best way to encourage people to work in a sustainable and responsible way is to reward them for doing so.

MOI can supply sustainable Palm Oil via two RSPO certified supply chains to meet your company sustainability commitments.

Sustainable palm oil from certified sources is mixed with ordinary palm oil throughout the supply chain.

Mass Balance

Sustainable palm oil from different certified sources is kept separate from ordinary palm oil throughout the supply chain.

About Palm Oil

Palm oil, which is extracted from the flesh of the fruit (not the seed), has been a safe and nutritious source of edible oil for healthy humans for 5,000 years. Its nutritional value, health benefits and importance as a natural resource continues to be discovered even today.

Palm oil, like other vegetable oils, is cholesterol free. Having a moderate amount of saturated fat naturally means there is no need for hydrogenation, which produces harmful trans fatty acids.

Rich in carotenoids (Vitamin A), palm oil has 12 times the Vitamin A found in carrots. Beta-carotene is known to benefit eyesight and has strong antioxidant properties.

Palm oil is also the world's richest source of delta Tocotrienols, a potent antioxidant found in Vitamin E. Delta Tocotrienols are not found in most other vegetable oils, such as Soybean, Corn, Canola, Sunflower and Cottonseed oils.
